I was recently listening to my bible app and a portion of scripture really stood out to me. I have read this book in the bible several times, but the Lord really highlighted this scripture this time. I was listening to Acts when Peter and John healed a lame beggar man who had been unable to walk since birth. Acts 3:10 says that all the people were filled with wonder and amazement and were mystified at the miracle that took place. Peter and John give all credit for the miracle to Jesus and boldly tell the people to repent and turn to God and over 5,000 were saved. Peter and John were then arrested and brought before the high court for preaching the gospel and questioned about the miracle they performed. The high court wanted to know by what power or name they healed the lame man with. Peter, being filled with the Holy Spirit began to tell the high court the miracle happened through the power of the name of Jesus and the court ended up releasing them. This is an amazing story and example that we can follow, but the next part of this story is what the Lord really emphasized to me. Acts 4:13 says,” now the men of the Jewish High Court saw the confidence and boldness of Peter and John, and grasped the fact that they were uneducated and untrained ordinary men, and the High Court was astounded, and they began to recognize that they had been with Jesus.” They recognized that Peter and John had been with Jesus. This is the key to walking in the supernatural! Yes, formal biblical education is beneficial, but spending time with Jesus is the key to living an extraordinary life for Him!
I am reminded of Moses in the book of Exodus when he would spend time with God on the mountain and his face would glow and the people knew and recognized he had been with God. The same is here, the people could tell that Peter and John had spent time with Jesus by the miracle and boldness they were walking in. When we are in tune with Jesus, He will guide us through every circumstance good or bad. Communing with Jesus is vital as a Christian, it affects the way we walk, talk, react, and handle situations and the life of Jesus will become evident in us! I want to encourage you to stay focused on Jesus and make time for Him and guard that time so you can live in the fullness of God! The word says that signs and wonders will follow those who believe, but more than anything I want people to recognize that I’ve been with Jesus!
