Phillip Corbett
Pastor Phil Corbett Bio
Phil Corbett, born in Houston, Texas, knew the call of God on his life since age five. Having been raised in a family who placed Christ at the center of their lives, participating in many different church ministries, ministry is deeply rooted inside him. At the age of twelve, he helped his pastor tear down an abandoned church building in the small town of Corrigan, just thirty minutes from where he lived. Eight years later, while serving as a youth pastor in Fort Worth, Texas, he heard the call of God to move to the little town of Corrigan.
Phil sensed in his heart, that this would be the last place he and his wife Rachel, would ever live, and this new church they were planting, would be their one pastoral assignment for their entire life. Now, almost forty years later, they continue to serve this congregation they love dearly and found out that God’s promises are true. He feels like the best days of his life, and the ministry ahead of him are just ahead.
Phil at an early period, felt a special touch of God on his life. His faith and expectation in God, and compassion for others has opened the door for him to see many miracles. Because he experienced discouragement along the way, and persevered, he has a heart for other pastors and congregations, so they can live in their God-given destiny. He has written four books, Running With Your Second Wind, Second Story Window, The Unseen Realm and Second Thoughts, published by Evergreen Publishers in Mobile, Alabama.
He is married to Rachel, and they have four beautiful daughters. Two of his sons-in-laws are active in pastoral and teaching ministries. The joy of their life together is their six grandchildren, Choe, Will, Wallace, Caleb, Rali and Phillip. Phil’s favorite things to do are to spend time with his wife and grandchildren, camping and hunting and his favorite secular author is Louis LA’mour and in church realm, John Maxwell. Phil is an ordained minister affiliated with the Assemblies of God.
When asked what was his life scripture, he quickly replied, Matthew 6:33. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” He believes this should be the principle that every Believer should practice.
